The president of Turistec and the European Commission umbrella of tourism situate the capacity of transfer knowledge practiced from the island, as the example of attitude in front of the new challenges.

The president of the Balearic Islands, Francina Armengol, inaugurated the 2nd International EUREKATOURISM+ Brokerage Event asking the entrepreneurs and the workers of the technological and touristic sector to guide this "moment" of innovation.
The Technology ParK of Palma de Mallorca, Parc Bit, welcomed the second edition of an event organized under the presidency of the International Cluster of Technologies of Information and communications applied on tourism, Turistec, with the collaboration of Carlos Juiz, vice president of EUREKATOURISM+ for Turistec, in organizing the event.
In presence of worldwide experts in the ambit of technologies and tourism, entrepreneurs, entities and institutions linked to innovation, under others, the conferences have been introduced officially this morning by the President of the Government of the Balearic Islands. Francina Armengol referred during her speech to the need to create on the Islands the right conditions to, in the same way the know-how has been exported, be now the referent for its attraction. “We have to be able to generate an inverse brain drain, – she highlighted, – and it has to be us, who attract talents, something that can be really beneficial for everyone.”
In this way, the President compromised herself to impulse Public Private Partnerships, in which other Countries at the vanguard of innovation believe “to organize talent, use it and grow in excellence and quality”. Francina Armegol recognized that the public sector has to offer the best conditions “the highest juridical security and best cooperation” and recognized that the administrations need that “the private world raises its voice to go one step further” and regain competitivity.
From his own side, Jaume Monserrat, president of Turistec and the European Commission’s Umbrella of tourism, EUREKATOURISM+, defended the importance and relevance of the clusters in front of the necessities of relation between enterprises. Referring to the public private collaboration, Sr. Monserrat assures that “it is basic to increase the competitively in a territory and an indispensable for the TIC sector.
The panels, papers and round tables of the first day were centered on Innovation and Tourism, as well as the collaboration between clusters and start-ups. The workshop also focused on TIC and business processes. The first day will end with bilateral meetings organized by Turistec and the Chamber of Commerce of Mallorca as members of the Enterprise Europe Network, EEN.
