Dr. Carlos Juiz, Professor of Architecture and Computer Technology attached to the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the UIB and principal investigator of the Research Group on Architecture and Behavior of Computer Systems and Communications (ACSIC), has been appointed Honorary Professor of the Catholic University of Cuenca (Ecuador), "in recognition of the valuable scientific and research contribution to the University through the Academic Unit of Information Technology and Communication."

The Catholic University of Cuenca has an agreement signed with the University of the Balearic Islands and both have initiated several research cooperation projects, among which the codirection of doctoral theses stands out.

In 2016, Professor Juiz was appointed Visiting Honorary Professor by the Catholic University Los Angeles de Chimbote (Peru). In the two South American institutions, Professor Juiz has developed advanced training tasks in topics related to the governance of IT.
