On September 23, 2016, Carlos Juiz, Professor of Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) and principal investigator of the Architecture and Performance of Computer and Communication Systems research group, has dictated the conference "Governance of Information Technology" at the National Polytechnic School, Quito.

Governance of Information Technology is a relatively new discipline of information systems. These models are made on governance standards that guide the heads of companies and organizations develop their strategic agenda. That is why the implementation of the governance of IT is considered extremely important, thus the application of this concept generate benefits derived from: on track investments, achieving strategic goals supported by IT, active participation of the highest executive level, among others.

The implantation of IT Government is a fundamental aspect to all types of institutions, that is why the implementation of the governance of IT is considered important, considering the active participation of the highest executive level.
