Turistec presents the objectives and mission of EUREKATOURISM+ in the innovation week organized by the Spanish presidency of Eureka

From 15 to 19 May, the Center for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI) organizes the Open EUREKA Innovation Week, a large forum and technological market with the participation of more than 1000 companies from more than 40 countries, aimed at encouraging and financing the Transnational cooperation in R&D close to the market. The Open EUREKA Innovation Week 2017 is an event organized within the activities of the Spanish Presidency of EUREKA, which boasts Spain between July 2016-June 2017.
Carlos Juiz, vice-president of Turistec for the EUREKATOURISM+ initiative, explained to the attendees of the Eureka Academy, the joint project of the six countries of tourism umbrellas. The Eureka Academy, with which the event has started, has been an occasion to explain how, from the presidency that holds the International Cluster of Information and Communication Technologies applied to Tourism, and the six countries of the Umbrella (Spain, France, Italy, Turkey, Hungary and the Czech Republic) are intended to "increase the competitiveness of the tourist industry through the generation of research, technological development and innovation (RTDI) projects of industrial interest". And all this, said Juiz, "with a clear orientation towards sustainable development and the improvement of tourism, leisure and the cultural sector, through technological innovation."
Juiz has also stressed the importance of the Eureka umbrellas and that, as EUREKATOURISM+ "are initiatives formed by experts from science and industry and representatives of state funding agencies, among others, who support and advise projects whose goal is development of ideas".
Turistec will chair the EUREKATOURISM+ secretariat until 2018. Increasing the competitiveness of the tourism industry through the generation of research, technological development and innovation projects are the objectives and interests shared by the six member countries of the EUREKATOURISM+ umbrella. The umbrellas are part of the five instruments of which the Eureka initiative is presided over by Spain through the CDTI.
