Prof.-Dr.-Helmert-Straße 2-3, 14482 Potsdam, Germany

On Tuesday, April 9th, 2019, Belen Bermejo presented the results of the Web servers Energy Efficiency, VIrtuaLization and performance (WEEVILS) project at the Hasso Plattner Institut (HPI), University of Potsdam (Germany). The project has been carried out in collaboration with the Future SOC Lab, a research group that is part of the HPI. This project contributes to the improvement of the performance of virtualized platforms, specifically, the servers that support the consolidation of virtual machines.

The WEEVIL Second project is the second collaboration that the research group Architecture and Performance of Computer and Communications Systems (ACSIC) performs with the Future SOC Lab. The first objective was the study of the behavior of the balance between performance and energy consumed by the servers that support the consolidation of virtual machines. The aim is to continue collaborating with this institution in the coming months in the study of energy and performance in virtualized environments. The presentation is available in this link.

The Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI) is unique in the German university landscape. HPI offers the innovation-oriented and practically-based studies in "IT-Systems Engineering" with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree and master degrees in Digital Health and Data Engineering. In addition, HPI offers a supplemental study program in the innovation method of Design Thinking. Academically structured as the independent Faculty of Digital Engineering at the University of Potsdam, HPI unites excellent research and teaching with the advantages of a privately financed institute and a tuition-free study program.
